On Friday September 11th I picked Jimmy up from work to get the news that we were given tickets to that nights' D-backs game in an hour!
Jimmy's boss has season tickets with two seats three rows behind home plate and we had been trying for months to get them! The boss's daughter was supposed to go t0 this game and had an emergency come up and couldn't go!
We hurried and got changed from our work clothes and hit the road so we wouldnt be late. The game started at 6:40 and we got on the freeway just about 6:15...talk about speeding ;)
We got to the park and were pretty much escorted to our seats. I laughed at one point and told Jimmy that I felt like I was breaking so many rules by being in that part of the stadium!
We got to our seats and I could not believe how close we were!
I took this picture right after we sat down...you could see the players mouths moving!!! I bet if we looked enough we could see the sweat coming down their faces too :)
Seriously, I felt like royalty!!!! We had our own waiter that came and took our order for the restaurant below us. He came back and forth every twenty minutes or so right until the end of the 6th inning. This is him printing tickets for everyone in our section right about the 6th inning.
I was so excited to be there and told Jimmy I wanted something to take home as a souvenier. We decided to get the popcorn in the hat to do just that. Unfortunately the popcorn was a little stale but I still got to take the hat home :)
When the game was over we watched the Fireworks show above the stadium and listened to patriotic music to celebrate the 9-11 anniversary.
It was an awesome night!!!!! We even got a reserved parking spot with WHITTON on it :).
